Ballarat Specialist School caters for the educational, social and emotional needs of children with a mild, moderate or complex intellectual disability.
Students are aged between 3 and 18 years old and grouped across 4 mini schools being Early Years, Junior, Middle and Senior schools.
All of our 220+ staff are dedicated to the individual education of each child and aim to achieve personal success together.
Our programs are designed to increase the level of independence for all of our students so that they can prosper within their community once they have finished their education. Ballarat Specialist School is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. This will be the primary focus of our care and decision-making.
Ballarat Specialist School is also committed to providing a child safe environment where children and young people are safe and feel safe, and their voices are heard about decisions that affect their lives. Every person involved in Ballarat Specialist School has a responsibility to understand the important and specific role they play individually and collectively to ensure that the wellbeing and safety of all children and young people is at the forefront of all they do and every decision they make.
