parents event seniorEvents and Celebrations

Across the Senior School we celebrate and recognise many events that contribute to the students' experience at the FARM. Within the Senior School we focus all our learning through a ‘hands on’ and in real-life context approach. Many of our excursions and incursions change year-to-year due to catering for student’s individual needs and interests; these also link to projects that students are working on during VET and VCAL classes.

The following events are significant for our students at the FARM:

  • We commence the year with a Welcome Event where we invite our family community to the FARM Campus to enjoy an informal chat with staff.
  • Our Careers, VET & Work Experience Coordinator, organisers an annual Post School Options Expo. This is a great opportunity for outside service providers to attend and explain what they can offer.
  • Twice a year we invite our past Year 12 students back to the FARM Campus for a Return to School Leavers Afternoon Tea. This event allows students to come back and share their journey after leaving BSS.
  • All students in the Senior School are invited to participate in the Production. Students thoroughly enjoy the experience of either performing up on stage in a singing or dancing role, or assisting backstage.
  • Every second year we hold our Debutante Ball. Our Year 11 and 12 students are invited to participate in the event where they are presented to their guests and perform dances.
  • Every other year all of our Senior School students are invited to attend our Formal. This is a fun-filled dance event where our Senior School Band performs for us.
  • In Year 10 students have an overnight experience at our FARM Campus. This one-night camp is an opportunity for students to build upon their personal development skills in a familiar environment.
  • Year 11 students spend a whole day in Melbourne. This experience enables students to explore city life as well as utilise the public transport system.
  • Our Year 12 students attend a two-night camp experience. This camp is a fantastic opportunity for students to spend time as a cohort and participate in a range of activities.
